Looking for something productive for your children to do this summer? How about entering this cool scholarship contest from Education.com? It will get them writing and drawing with a purpose. This may get their creativity channeled into a direction that might earn a prize for both of you!
The contest encourages kids in/entering K-5th grade to think creatively about what education means to them and use their art, writing, and language skills to express their ideas. A winner will be chosen from each grade level to receive $500 for college and a free lifetime membership to Education.com for their parent or educator! The winning child can choose to nominate their local library to win a $1,000 donation as well.
Just go to this link to get the official rules and instructions. And while you are visiting the link, take a look around. Education.com has hundreds of free printable worksheets to reinforce math and grammar concepts, as well to help teach foreign languages, science, writing, and reading comprehension.
I print off a worksheet when my dolls need math facts practice, comma review, a quick DIY lesson on plate techtonics after an earthquake on the news, or typing practice. To try out a math worksheet, check out my post on my School Room Makeover.
Hope you win this fun scholarship contest! Have a happy (and productive) summer!
